SMS Messaging Consent

How We Collect Your Consent
Baker Connection collects explicit consent for SMS messaging during the account registration process. Below is how opt-in is obtained:

Account Creation
User creates an account with their email address and password on the Baker Connection mobile app.

Phone Number Entry
After signup, the user is prompted to enter their mobile phone number on a dedicated verification screen.

Consent Disclosure
The screen clearly states: "We need to verify your phone number to keep Baker Connection safe and fraud-free. A one-time verification code will be sent to your number."

Active Opt-In
User taps "Send verification code" — an affirmative action that initiates SMS delivery. No pre-checked boxes or passive consent.
What Messages We Send
Baker Connection sends only transactional SMS messages for account security purposes. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
Sample message: "Your Baker Connection verification code is 847291. Valid for 10 minutes. Do not share this code with anyone."
- One-time verification codes (OTP) sent at account signup only
- Message frequency: once per new account registration
- No recurring marketing messages
- No third-party promotional content
Your Rights & How to Opt Out
Participation in SMS verification is required to create an account, as it is used solely for identity verification and fraud prevention.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out
- Reply HELP for assistance
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan
- Baker Connection will never sell your phone number to third parties
